A working meeting was held between representatives of the Central Election Commission of Georgia (CEC) and the Supreme Election Commission of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara (SEC).

The meeting was opened by the CEC Chairperson Giorgi Kalandarishvili and the SEC Chairperson Parmen Jalagania. According to Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the SEC represents an important part of the election administration, and therefore it is essential that practices on various electoral issues are actively discussed between the two bodies. He also noted that such working meetings contribute to closer institutional coordination, strengthening communication, and advancing electoral practices. In turn, the SEC Chairperson emphasized that one of the main goals of organizing the meeting was to further strengthen cooperation and exchange information on election-related matters.

During the working meeting, the CEC Chairperson underlined the importance of the involvement of the Supreme Election Commission of Adjara in the preparation process for the October 4 elections, especially in terms of administering electoral procedures and informing voters. In addition, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, together with SEC representatives, discussed in detail the parliamentary elections of October 26 and the experience gained. Special attention was given to challenges related to disinformation and to a joint strategy to counter it.

The discussions also touched upon awareness-raising campaigns and educational projects that both institutions are implementing on a large scale for voters.

Another key topic of the working meeting was the 2025 municipal elections and legislative amendments. On these issues, Giorgi Santuriani, Head of the Legal Department of the CEC Administration, delivered a detailed presentation. The participants discussed various electoral regulations and reviewed significant matters in this area.

The working meeting was organized by the Supreme Election Commission of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and was held in Sairme on September 10–12.
